HTC One (M8)
This smartphone is also known as the second generation HTC One (2014), HTC One (M8) Harman Kardon edition and HTC One (M8) Google Play edition. It is an Android based smartphone. Following a number of leaks which occurred during the months prior, The HTC One M8 was officially revealed in a press conference on March 25, 2014. It was also released at retail the same day by Verizon Wireless and by other Canadian and United States carriers for online orders prior to its broader retail availability in mid-April.
The second-generation One model resembles the design of the first generation HTC One. But it has superior features. HTC One M8 has mostly received good optimistic reviews, with specific admiration and praise for its improvements in design within its hardware and software, and its improved internals in comparison to the previous One. However, some reviews criticized certain features of the new One, such as its large bezels, the absence of significant improvements to the main camera's image quality, and the varying quality of the effects enabled by the depth sensor.
One of the major problems of the previous HTC was that it really drained out the battery when you used the phone heavily.
The good news is that the HTC One (M8) is rectified to a great degree extending the power of your device over a day or two. The battery power was upgraded to 2600mAh from 2300mAh.
HTC has improved the speakers on the front of the device. They're way better than last year and the sound is much clearer. Clarity between the bass and the vocals when listening to music is higher, and the sound is cleaner when turning up the volume to maximum. This is because HTC separated the channels within the sound. This allows it to clip the likes of the bass when things get too much for the speakers without affecting the other elements.
HTC has also improved in the area of storage. It now has a microSD expansion slot to the One (M8).This was possible due to feedback form HTC users who complained about the lack of storage. So HTC popped in the expansion slot to make consumers happy with the One (M8).
Dot View Case
The dot view case is a new fancy trick that HTC has up its sleeve. The One (M8) has a special case mode that converts the display into a cool and retro 8-bit mode to give you time, weather and notification information. The front cover of the case consists of hundreds of tiny holes through which the display is visible. But the Boomsound speakers are exposed to make sure sound can be heard without distortion.
The HTC dot view case is similar to Samsung's S View case. It’s an official accessory that enhances the functionality of the phone by its presence. Despite being clad in rubber and silicone the front cover is able to register touch for numerous actions.

Skype has been the most commonly used VOIP software around the globe. Free video conferencing as well as affordable oversees calling services have added to the software’s popularity over the years. Microsoft has announced a new update for Skype – Realtime Translation. Developed over a period of fifteen years, the feature is going to introduce an exciting new future for Skype.
The Basics
The feature will allow real-time translation during Skype calls. A number of languages can be translated during your conversations. At the moment, successful translation of English language to German has been tested. The translations are not, however, perfectly accurate yet. Still, both parties in the conversation have been able to understand each other. More research and development will deal with glitches and make translations accurate.
The Targeted Audience
Who is the Realtime Translation feature going to benefit? There is quite a large group of audience eager for the update. Included in this group are folks seeking jobs abroad. Skype has always been a common means of conducting online interviews. The translation feature will make it easy for employers and potential employees of different nationalities to understand each other during such interviews.
Secondly, students going to study abroad can also use the feature for conversing with fellow students, supervisors and other members of their institute to build an early understanding before finally starting their study program.
Expectations
Microsoft and Skype have not yet revealed whether the feature would be free or a certain amount of fee would be charged for its use. Eager audience expects Reatime Translation’s availability for both free and paid Skype calls. The feature is expected to be released by the last quarter of 2014 for Windows 8 users. Huawei Honor 3X with Octa-Core Processor 5.5 inch Display Only At $280
Images Credit :CNET
Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei has come up with a dazzling gadget in its efforts to make a mark in the tech world. Successor to Honor 3X, Huawei’s Honor 3X Pro is a device designed to blow away its audience through a stunning 5.5 inches display along with the powerful performance of an octa core processor. In fact, the phablet has brought forth an entire set of remarkable features.
Have a look at what more Huawei Honor 3X pro offers.
Design Features
The gadget brings a premium feel through its faux-leather back, just like the one found in Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 as well as Note 3 Lite. The phablet is lightweight and sleek. The 5.5 inches of screen is illuminated by 16M colors display. LTPS LCD capacitive technology has been used for the touch screen with multi-touch functionality.
The color range for the gadget is narrow with only two options: black and white. However, these classy shades impart a professional look to the phablet for use by executives.
Functionality
The Chinese variant of the phone will offer 4G connectivity for fast internet browsing. The models released for the rest of the world will let users enjoy 3G networking. In addition, the dual-sim feature in the phone makes it handier. Users can enjoy the benefits of two mobile networks or maintain separate numbers for personal and business contacts.
The large display brings an impressive resolution for clear and sharp images and an amazing multi-media experience. The latter is enhanced through DTS sound integration.
There is 32 GB onboard memory along with 2GB RAM. These are impressive specs, providing users with a large storage for their media libraries, documents and countless apps. This did not keep the manufacturers from adding an extra slot of memory card. Additional memory can be up to 64 GB.
Performance
The phablet is powered by a stunningly fast octa core processor. It operates at a speed of 1.7 GHz for extremely fast operations which include initial loading of the OS, multi-tasking and application loading.
Android’s Jelly Bean version 4.2.2 operates under the hood. This is the only slight disappointment in the device since the version is quite outdated for the year 2014. With KitKat running on most latest gadgets, Huawei Honor 3X Pro might not come up to the standards of users demanding more high-end features. Nevertheless, the OS running on the phablet is sufficient for enjoying latest versions of apps and an overall satisfying performance.
Impressive Camera
One of the features which take the edge off the gadget’s rather outdated OS is its impressive camera. The primary camera operates through a 13 MP lens. The clarity of photos is further assured by its amazing 4128 by 3096 pixels resolution. In addition, the secondary camera also comes with a much higher resolution as compared to most other phones. This 5MP lens leads to great quality of video conferencing.
Final Thoughts
Huawei Honor 3X Pro is a promising gadget with high-end features and a desirable functionality. Its powerful processor couples with 3000 mAh of amazing battery power to make the sturdy giant truly impressive. In addition, an affordable price range is what is likely to make potential buyers prefer this phablet over more expensive options this year.
